How to Approach Easy Puzzles on Paper
Step 1 - Scan rows and columns
Look at each row and column. If 8 out of 9 digits are already placed, the missing one is the only possible value for the empty cell. This technique alone solves most of an easy puzzle.
Step 2 - Scan 3×3 boxes
After rows/columns, check each 3×3 box. A digit already placed in 8 of the 9 cells means the last cell must hold the missing digit. Combined with step 1, this resolves the entire easy grid.
Tip - Use a pencil
Even on easy puzzles, a pencil lets you correct any slip without ruining the sheet. Write digits clearly in the centre of each cell. Easy puzzles rarely need candidate notes, but feel free to jot them lightly if you ever feel unsure.
